XIII.P Emerging

Our fundamental approach is econo-centric, in that the first filter we use to differentiate is on the basis of the maturity stage of the economies targeted. We thus have Emerging Economies with GDP per capita of between US$ 6 001 to 9 000.

The GDP per capita is the fundamental but not the only indicator that we use. In accordance with the Global Competitive Index (as developed by the World Economic Forum), we have further extrapolated the global standing of Emerging Economies on the following and as follows:

  1. – Institutional development/maturity (fair to good);
  2. – Infrastructure (fair to good);
  3. – Macro Economic status (fair to good);
  4. – Health and Primary Education (fair to good);
  5. – Higher Education & Training (fair to good);
  6. – Goods Market efficiency (fair to good);
  7. – Labour Market Efficiency (fair to good);
  8. – Financial Market Development (fair to good);
  9. – Technological Readiness (fair to good);
  10. – Market Size (fair to good);
  11. – Business Sophistication (fair);
  12. – Innovation (fair).
